Biography:
Hema, originally named Krishna Veni, is an Indian actress and comedian known primarily for her work in Telugu cinema. She has appeared in over 250 films as of 2014 and has received recognition for her comedic roles. Hema was honoured with the Nandi Award for Best Female Comedian for her performance in the film Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam.
Born in Razole, East Godavari district, Hema belonged to a family interested in films. She completed her studies until the seventh class but then discontinued her education. Hema’s passion for acting led her to venture into the film industry at a young age. However, after acting in a few films, she took a break from her career to get married. Later, she returned to films with the movie Murari and has been actively pursuing her acting career since then. Upon entering the film industry, she adopted the screen name, Hema.
In addition to her film career, Hema took a brief foray into politics. She participated as a candidate for the Mandapeta constituency representing the Jai Samaikyandhra Party in the 2014 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election. However, she did not emerge victorious in the election.
Overall, Hema has established herself as a notable actress and comedian in the Telugu film industry. With her comedic timing and performances, she has entertained audiences and significantly impacted the industry.
