Theatre“Sudigadu,” a 2012 Telugu parody film directed by Bhimaneni Srinivasa Rao and produced by Chandrasekhar D Reddy under Arundathi Movies, emerged as a remake of C. S. Amudhan’s debut Tamil film, “Thamizh Padam.” Starring Allari Naresh and Monal Gajjar, the movie navigates comical situations and dramatic sequences, although it received a mixed reception upon its release on August 24, 2012.
The storyline revolves around Kamesh and his wife, celebrating the arrival of their extraordinary newborn, born with a remarkably muscular physique. However, chaos ensues when the antagonist, Thikkal Reddy, storms into the room during the baby’s birth, triggering a bizarre sequence of events. Due to an extended urination by the newborn, Thikkal Reddy’s elder son meets an unfortunate demise, resulting in Thikkal Reddy’s vengeful grudge against the baby.
In a bid to protect their child from Thikkal Reddy’s wrath, Kamesh flees with the baby and his mother to Hyderabad. The child, named Siva, grows into a formidable and seemingly invincible young man, capable of halting bullets, manipulating time, and even influencing others’ intelligence.
As Siva matures, he encounters Priya, eventually falling in love with her. However, Thikkal Reddy’s gang relentlessly pursues Siva, prompting him to confront his adversaries. Amidst the chaos, Siva encounters a mysterious figure known as Don D, engaging in a fierce battle against the antagonistic forces.
Throughout the intense confrontations, it is eventually unveiled that Siva is none other than Siva Manohar I.P.S., a young undercover cop engaged in a covert operation. He successfully eliminates all the villains, with a surprising revelation that the enigmatic Don D is, in fact, his own grandmother. Her elaborate ruse was orchestrated to elevate Siva as a heroic figure and herself as a notorious Don.
In a twist of events, both Siva and his grandmother are absolved of any wrongdoing in court, with Siva earning a promotion to the prestigious position of D.G.P. (Director General of Police) of Andhra Pradesh.
The film navigates a blend of exaggerated humor, fantastical sequences, and unexpected revelations, while ultimately culminating in a triumphant resolution for the protagonist, Siva, and his unconventional but impactful grandmother.
