Biography:

Anupama Prakash Kumar, born on December 4, 1974, is an Indian actress and model. She began her career in the entertainment industry by starring in over 300 commercials. Her acting journey commenced in the 2010 Hindi movie “Ishqiya,” and she also appeared in Cheran’s “Pokkisham” in Tamil and Kicha Sudeepa’s “Paartha” in Kannada. Primarily known for her supporting roles, she has worked in various Tamil, Hindi, English, Telugu, and Kannada language films.

Besides her acting and modeling pursuits, Anupama has been involved in journalism, television anchoring, and production. She recently ventured into movie production with an indie black and white film scheduled for release in the summer of 2023. Her performance in “Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal” earned her the Vijay Award 2013 for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female). Her role in the acclaimed film “Sarpatta Parambarai” garnered her the Galatta Crown Award, a Filmfare Award nomination, and the Norway Tamil Film Festival award for best supporting actor.

In her personal life, she is married to G. Shivakumar, a Navy commander, and they have a son named Aditya. Anupama was born in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and spent most of her life in North India. Initially, she worked extensively in television as an anchor, journalist, and producer. Transitioning to modeling and acting, she appeared in numerous commercials alongside notable figures like Shah Rukh Khan and Mohanlal. Her television credits include Hindi series such as “Kabhi Aaye Na Judaai,” “Mission Fateh,” “Shaka Laka Boom Boom,” and “The Magic Make-Up Box.” Anupama’s cinematic debut was a cameo in the critically acclaimed 2010 film “Ishqiya.”
