A.R. Rahman, born as A. S. Dileep Kumar on January 6, 1967, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, is a globally acclaimed musician, composer, and singer. Rahman’s interest in music developed at a young age. His father, R.K. Shekhar, was a composer and conductor for the All India Radio, which exposed Rahman to a diverse range of musical influences.
