Story:

Unreleased Indian Hindi-language biographical sports drama movie Maidaan (translated as “Field”) was directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Zed Studios. The film, which is based on the golden era of Indian football (1952–1962), stars Ajay Devgn as football coach Syed Abdul Rahim with Priyamani, Rudranil Ghosh, and Gajraj Rao. A. R. Rahman wrote the music. The movie was supposed to hit theatres on June 23, 2023, but it was once again delayed.

PLOT

The movie, which takes place between 1952 and 1962, follows Syed Abdul Rahim’s incredible life and journey as he transformed Indian football.

Production

Due to COVID-19 pandemic-related delays, principal photography started on August 19, 2019, and ended in May 2022. Due to upcoming post-production work, the movie’s intended theatre debut on June 3, 2022, was postponed. On June 23, 2023, it will now be released in theatres.
