Story:

Navarasa is a Tamil-language anthology series conceived by Mani Ratnam, who also co-produced it with Jayendra Panchapakesan under their new banner, Justickets. The series, featuring nine standalone episodes, is based on the Indian concept of the Navarasas and directed by a distinguished group of filmmakers including Priyadarshan, Karthik Subbaraj, Vasanth, Arvind Swami, Bejoy Nambiar, Karthick Naren, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Sarjun KM, and Rathindran R. Prasad.

The ensemble cast includes prominent actors such as Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi, Siddharth, Revathi, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Prayaga Martin, Prasanna, Poorna, Delhi Ganesh, Rohini, Yogi Babu, Manikuttan, Remya Nambeesan, Aditi Balan, Bobby Simha, Riythvika, Sree Raam, Atharvaa, Nedumudi Venu, Anjali, and Kishore, among others.

The idea for the series originated from Mani Ratnam and Jayendra’s collaboration on social initiatives, aiming to create a streaming project to raise funds for daily-wage workers and other members of the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The series which marked the digital debut for Mani Ratnam generated significant anticipation due to its stellar cast, crew, and extensive promotional campaigns. Navarasa premiered on Netflix on August 6, 2021.
