TheatreEkk Deewana Tha Prateik Babbar, Amy Jackson (in her Hindi cinema debut), and Manu Rishi play the key characters in Gautham Vasudev Menon’s 2012 Indian Hindi-language love drama film Ekk Deewana Tha. The movie is a remake of Menon’s bilingual feature Ye Maaya Chesave (Telugu) / Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (Tamil) from 2010. A. R. Rahman’s music and film score, which have been reused, are featured. M. S. Prabhu and Anthony Gonsalves handled the cinematography and editing, respectively.
The movie was originally going to be called Prem Katha, but the director changed it to Ekk Deewana Tha because he wanted the title to be more abstract than the original. The movie was released on February 17, 2012, and was produced by Fox Star Studios, Photon Kathaas, and RS Infotainment.

Mumbai-based mechanical engineering student Sachin Kulkarni (Prateik Babbar) wants to be a director. Manu Rishi, the cinematographer, is introduced to him by his friend. Sachin joins the director’s staff as an assistant thanks to Anay. The Marathi Brahmin family Sachin rents Jessie Thekekuttu’s home. Living upstairs is Jessie’s family, a traditional Malayali Syrian Catholic family from Alappuzha, Kerala, known as the “Nasrani”. As soon as Sachin sees Jessie, he falls in love. Sachin irritates Jessie by making an attempt to engage with her, who is hesitant to talk to guys in front of her stern father.
