Biography:

Asha Kelunni Nair, known by her stage name Revathi, is a prominent Indian actress and filmmaker. She was born on July 8, 1966, in Kochi, Kerala, India. Revathi has worked predominantly in Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi cinema and has established herself as a versatile and talented performer.

Revathi began her acting career as a child artist in Malayalam films in the 1970s. She made her debut as a lead actress in the critically acclaimed Malayalam film “Mane (The Home)” in 1982. Her breakthrough came with the Tamil film “Mouna Ragam” (1986), directed by Mani Ratnam, where her portrayal of a woman caught between two suitors earned her widespread recognition and appreciation. The film is considered a classic and Revathi’s performance was highly praised.

She went on to deliver memorable performances in several successful films such as “Thevar Magan” (1992), “Anjali” (1990), and “Marupadiyum” (1993).
