Plot
The narrative opens with the birth of a baby girl named Nandini in the society ofzamindars, or feudal landlords, whose word is law to the people who labor on their land. The three brothers of Nandini celebrate the daughter child with a feast. For the occasion, the young son of the deceased local singer is brought in to sing.
Since their parents passed away, the three brothers treat Nandini as if she were their own child. An astrologer believes that at five years old, Nandini will be a great source of happiness for the family, but that her marriage would be determined by her own decision rather than her brothers’.
She is raised within the house’s boundaries to avoid upsetting the boys by doing this. She receives home education, and when she does venture out, the guys are all told to stay away from Nandini because there will be terrible repercussions if they see her.
Nandini experiences adolescence. Only her bodyguards and the service personnel are permitted near her. The young singer, Chanti, becomes a simpleton with a golden heart who is stupid and naive. His mother Kanthamma, who is a widow, is raising him. He spends his time singing and amusing the villagers instead of attending school.
The bodyguards and Chanti fight one day, and Chanti beats them up. The Brothers choose Chanti to be Nandini’s butler and bodyguard after being impressed by his fighting prowess and naivete. Meanwhile, Nandini grows resentful of her restricted freedom.
Without telling her brother, she asks Chanti to show her the village. Nandini becomes unwell as a result of Chanti fulfilling her requests and showing her the village. The brothers beat up Chanti because they believe she is to blame for Nandini’s illness.
Nandini, who has just developed feelings for Chanti, feels bad about being the cause of his humiliation. As she gives Chanti her medication, he unintentionally compares Nandini to his mother, believing her to be one of the few people who genuinely loves him. They become more emotionally closer as a result of this experience. Nandini acknowledges her current affection for Chanti.
A factory worker gets disciplined one day for sneering at Nandini. At the opening of her brothers’ new factory, he plans to murder Nandini. When Chanti learns of the scheme, he leaps at Nandini in a last-ditch effort to save her, accidentally touching her in front of others. Nandini doesn’t mind and stands up for Chanti, saying that he wouldn’t act in such a way in public.
Her brothers, though, are furious. They nearly killed him by beating him so badly. He pauses, and Nandini offers him an opportunity to clarify. They drop their heads in shame as Chanti describes the circumstances. Despite Nandini’s tacit apology, Chanti immediately resigns from his position.
That evening, Nandini makes the decision to apologize to Chanti and maybe persuade him to return to work. Chanti declines to return because he cannot tolerate her brothers’ aggressive behavior. She believes they won’t be able to abuse Chanti if he marries her.
In order to shield Chanti from her brothers, she persuades him to wear a wedding necklace around her neck. Chanti follows instructions without considering the holiness of the deed and is unaware that he is now wed to her.
After saving Nandini’s life, Chanti returns to work and receives more respect from the brothers. When it comes to caring for her husband, Nandini also begins to imitate her sisters-in-law. Chanti is uneasy with this, but he doesn’t know what to do. Her sister-in-law notices this change in behavior and advises the brothers to marry Nandini off before things grow worse.
Nandini tries to convince Chanti that they are already married after understanding that they are attempting to marry her off. When Chanti’s mother realizes what has happened, she breaks him out of his denial and helps him run away from his refusal to understand. To try to keep him safe, she sends him elsewhere.
After learning of what has transpired, the brothers attempt to coerce the mother into disclosing the location of her son’s hiding place. Her kid, who nearly kills the brothers, saves her in time. He is stopped from killing the brothers by their wives, who beg him to spare Nandini, who has turned to self-destruction after learning of her brothers’ cruel crimes. They embrace. The movie concludes with Nandini recovering as Chanti dashes back to save his wife and sings her back to life.
