Theatre“Salaam Venky,” translated as “Salute to you, Venky,” is a 2022 Hindi-language drama directed by Revathi. Produced by Suraj Singh and Shraddha Agrawal under Blive Productions and RTake Studios, respectively, the film stars Kajol and Vishal Jethwa in leading roles. It unfolds a genuine narrative about a mother’s unwavering efforts to ensure her son, diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, experiences life to the fullest.
Revathi and Kajol announced the film on October 7, 2021, with principal photography commencing on February 11, 2022, in Mumbai. “Salaam Venky” hit theaters on December 9, 2022.
Plot
The movie is adapted from Shrikanth Murthy’s book “The Last Hurrah [6],” which recounts the true story of Kolavennu Venkatesh and his mother, K. Sujata.
