Story:

Elan is the writer and director of the 2024 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film Star, which is about a coming-of-age. Under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Rise East Entertainment, B. V. S. N. Prasad and Sreenidhi Sagar are the co-producers of the movie.

In addition to Lal, Aaditi Pohankar, Preity Mukhundhan, and Geetha Kailasam, Kavin plays the main part. The movie centers on a young boy named Kalai who, despite many challenges, pursues his dream of being an actress.

At first, Harish Kalyan was chosen to play the main part, but Kavin eventually took his position. The movie was first announced in August 2023 with the working title Kavin’s Next; a few days later, the official title was revealed. In June 2023, principal photography got underway.

The majority of the filming took place in Chennai, and it was finished by mid-February 2024. Yuvan Shankar Raja created the music for the movie, while Ezhil Arasu K handled the photography and Pradeep E. Ragav handled the editing.

Star debuted in theaters around the globe on May 10, 2024. Critics and viewers gave it mixed reviews; they praised Yuvan Shankar Raja’s soundtrack and background score, the cinematography, Kavin and Lal’s performances, and the soundtrack, but they criticized Elan’s writing.
