Story:

Dasari Narayana Rao wrote and directed the 1989 Telugu-language action drama film Lankeswarudu, which translates to “Overlord of Lanka” and stars Mohan Babu, Raghuvaran, Radha, Revathi, Kaikala Satyanarayana, and Chiranjeevi. Dasari Narayana Rao made his 100th film with this one.

Plot
Revathi and Shankar (Chiranjeevi) are orphan siblings. Shankar snatches bread from a nearby tea stall to feed his starving sister. Meanwhile, another orphan child named Kalyana Chakravarthy is also starving and is observing them. Shankar gives him a piece of bread. Shankar assumes the role of caring for both the orphan and his younger sister.

Shankar gradually changes from a part-time burglar to a part-time gang leader as he makes every effort to provide them with food and shelter. He assists a neighboring hamlet during this time, and they treat him like a deity.

Dada (Kaikala Satyanarayana) is impressed and offers him a job after he destroys his soldiers. Shankar declines to work for him, but he agrees to a partnership when dada makes the offer. In addition to his criminal activities, Radha is a huge fan of Shankar’s since he is an excellent dancer and teacher. She sings a few little duets with him after falling in love.

Revati’s affection for Kalyan Chakravarthy is acknowledged by Shankar, who also arranges their wedding Shankar helps Kalyan Chakravarthy become a police officer, and during one of the crimes, he learns some information about Dada’s involvement.

Unaware of Shankar’s affiliation with the same criminal organization, Kalyan Chakravarthy approaches him for assistance in taking out Dada’s group. Then Shankar informs Dada that he has decided to leave his company.

Dada claims he is not accountable if his brother-in-law passes away at his hands, but he still accepts the proposition. Shankar therefore gives up on the notion of leaving Dada’s business and Dada promotes him to head of the syndicate. Not thrilled with this, Raghu Varan and Mohan Babu convince another group to kill Shankar and Dada.

As for Shankar, he is being questioned about his criminal past by Kalyan Chakravarthy and Revathi. He tries to articulate the sequence of events that led him to this. However, they depart from him.

Dada and the villagers are attacked and killed by Mohan Babu, Raghu Varan, and their new gang, with Shankar’s assistance. Shankar, filled with rage, ends the goons’ lives and gives himself over to his brother-in-law.
