Story:

Anjali is a Tamil-language children’s drama directed and written by Mani Ratnam. The film stars Raghuvaran and Revathi, with supporting performances by Tarun, Shruti, and Shamili.

The narrative centers around a mentally disabled child who is terminally ill and the emotional turmoil her family endures.

Released on 12 July 1990, Anjali received critical acclaim and won three National Film Awards. It was showcased in the Indian Panorama section at the 14th International Film Festival of India. Additionally, Anjali was India’s official entry for the Oscars in 1991, though it did not secure a nomination.
