Plot
“Osthe” is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by S. Dharani. It is a remake of the 2010 Hindi film “Dabangg.” The movie stars Silambarasan (Simbu) in the lead role, with Richa Gangopadhyay, Sonu Sood, and Jithan Ramesh in pivotal roles. Here is a detailed plot summary of the movie.
Velan (Silambarasan) is a fearless and unconventional cop in the small town of Kattuppakkam. He is known for his unorthodox methods and his ability to instill fear in the hearts of criminals. Despite his tough exterior, Velan has a troubled past and a strained relationship with his stepfather Nassar and half-brother Balan (Jithan Ramesh).
Velan’s mother, played by Revathi, loves both her sons equally and tries to maintain peace in the family. However, the animosity between Velan and Balan remains, as Balan feels overshadowed by Velan’s larger-than-life persona.
The antagonist of the film, Boxer Daniel (Sonu Sood), is a local goon and aspiring politician. Daniel’s illegal activities and ambition to rise to power put him at odds with Velan, who is determined to bring him to justice.
Amidst his professional life, Velan falls in love with Neduvaali (Richa Gangopadhyay), a simple village girl. Their romance blossoms despite the challenges posed by Velan’s dangerous job and his family’s disapproval.
As the story progresses, Velan uncovers Boxer Daniel’s deep-rooted criminal network and decides to take him down. The conflict escalates, leading to a series of confrontations between Velan and Daniel. Velan’s courage and determination to uphold justice are put to the test.
In a thrilling climax, Velan manages to expose Daniel’s misdeeds and brings him to justice, restoring peace in the town. The film ends on a positive note, with Velan reconciling with his family and solidifying his bond with Neduvaali.
