Theatre“Chanti” is a 2004 Telugu action drama film featuring Ravi Teja and Charmme Kaur in the lead roles. The movie was directed by Sobhan and produced by Krishna Kishore, with the music composed by Sri. It was released on November 12, 2004, and notably, this film marked Sobhan’s final directorial work before his passing in 2008.
The story revolves around Chanti (played by Ravi Teja), a soldier who returns to his village following his father Madhav Rao’s (Ranganath) funeral. He inherits a significant property, which he intends to use for his visually impaired sister Jyothi’s (Revathi) marriage. However, the land happens to be situated between two proposed road construction projects, one of which is of interest to the local MLA, Sarvarayudu (Atul Kulkarni), as it connects to his sugar factory.
Sarvarayudu offers to purchase the land from Chanti, but he refuses, considering it a tribute to his late father. Tragedy strikes when Chanti’s army friend, Raja Ravindra (Raja Ravindra), who is married to Chanti’s sister, is killed by the MLA. In the end, Chanti seeks vengeance for the deaths of his friend and father while safeguarding his father’s memorial site.
