Biography:
Indian actor Prateik Smita Patil (born Prateik Babbar; November 28, 1986) is primarily seen in Hindi movies. He started out as a production assistant before deciding to pursue an acting career. He is the son of the late actress Smita Patil and former MP and actor Raj Babbar. On the advice of director Prahlad Kakkar, Prateik starred in TV commercials for a number of goods before making his cinematic debut, including Nestle KitKat. Patil has won awards including a Stardust Award and a Filmfare Award after making his Bollywood debut.
In the 2008 coming-of-age drama Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, Patil debuted on screen. He received nominations for a number of awards, including the Screen Awards, the Filmfares, and the Stardust Awards for best debut. He won the last of the three. In 2011, Babbar performed in a number of roles, including commercially successful ones like the political drama Aarakshan and the crime thriller Dum Maaro Dum. He also attracted criticism for his roles in independent films like the romantic comedy My Friend Pinto and the drama Dhobi Ghat. The thriller Baaghi 2 (2018), the comedy Chhichhore (2019), and the action drama flick Darbar (2020) were his biggest hits after a string of box office disappointments.
