Indian actor Surya Kumar Bhagvandas, who was born in 1957, primarily plays supporting roles in Telugu films.
Vikram, a 1986 Telugu film, served as Surya’s debut performance in a movie. In his 35-year playing career, he has received four Nandi awards: two for his work on television as best villain (Preminchu, Premalo Jeevinchu) and best supporting actor (Janani Janmabhoomi), and two for his work on film (Sindhooram, Show). He paired up with Manjula in G. Neelakanta Reddy’s Show as the male lead. In 2001, his performance earned him a special jury Nandi award. Up to this point, Surya has appeared in more over 600 films and television shows.
Mother Prabhavathi and Lieutenant Colonel R. D. Bhagvandas, Surya’s parents, moved the family to Hyderabad and opened a school there called Trinity Public School. He taught for 28 years, and for a time he held both his acting and teaching careers at the same time. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in English literature and a Bachelor of Education, he enrolled in the second class of students at Madhu Film Acting School in 1984 and was given the gold medal for most outstanding student.

In 2003, he acted in the film Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu by Trisha Krishnan, Tarun, and Shriya Saran. He worked in the movie Nenu Naa Rakshasi by Puri Jagannadh with Rana Daggubati and Ileana D’Cruz. In 2012, Surya acted as Dasaradh Ram,the journalist in the motion picture Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu by Puri Jagannadh with Gabriela Bertante, Pawan Kalyan and Tamanna. He worked as Uday’s father in the film Oohalu Gusagusalade in 2014 by Srinivas Avasarala with Rashi Khanna, Naga Shourya and Srinivas Avasarala.
