Story:

“Cricket Girls & Beer” is a Telugu-language coming-of-age movie released in 2011. Directed by Umesh Kumar, the film features a cast of newcomers, including Aadarsh Balakrishna, Surya Tej, Naga Shaurya, and Sindhu Affan.

Plot

Vijay (played by Adarsh Balakrishna of “Iqbal” fame) is an aspiring cricketer and the eldest of the three brothers around whom this film revolves. Vikram (played by Naga Shourya) is the second brother, and his romantic interest is portrayed symbolically through a beer bottle. Vivek (played by Surya Tej) is the youngest brother and is initially depicted as a womanizer but later revealed to be a passionate yet impulsive lover.

Vivek is in a relationship with his college mate Swapna (played by Sindhu Affan), who is the daughter of a wealthy mining baron. She is being pressured into an unwanted marriage with the cruel son of a Mines Minister. Both Vivek and the minister’s son attend the same college, Mysamma Institute Of Technology (MIT). Tensions rise between them, leading to a physical altercation and the minister’s son threatening Vivek’s life.

The film also features a minister who evades questions from journalists about his unruly son by dismissing their inquiries as media exaggerations. The son, raised in a privileged environment where his every whim is catered to, clashes with a college Romeo and a brother seeking retribution and justice.

Overall, the storyline is criticized for being unoriginal and predictable, akin to canned fruit that has been shipped overseas for weeks and is barely palatable. The plot lacks depth and surprises, making it easy for even the most casual viewer to anticipate its developments.
