After obtaining permission from the Pakistani government, Dr. M. Alam Siddiqui, an archaeologist from Pakistan, begins investigating the lost treasure of King Kanishka. The treasure map of the treasure is concealed in an ancient box, and the key is a Garuda locket that was last seen in the research books of British archaeologist David. His team, under the direction of Siddiqui and Dilawar, finds the box in an old Pakistani market, and they work very hard to find the key. Fate unexpectedly turns around when Sultan, a notorious terrorist, and his men pay a visit to the archaeology department. Siddiqui finds the treasure and gives it to Sultan, but Sultan coerces him, takes the box away from him, and makes everyone his slave.
Gautham Kumar Varma is a courageous, avaricious security guard in Hyderabad who aspires to become a permanent resident and make easy money. His guiding principle is that he will never give up even a penny if it is rightfully his, but he will not accept even a crore if it is not. Sadly, neither of Gautham’s attempts to test his luck—buying lottery tickets or using devices that promise good fortune—succeed in making him rich. He shares a slum colony with four children who are his friends. Gautham complies when they ask him to display a 1000 rupee note out of curiosity. The following day, when the cash cartridge in the ATM is being replenished, Gautham asks the staff to display a note for 1000 rupees for the kids. Accepting, they display a note.
A group of criminals arrives and robs the ATM in the meantime. After Gautham apprehends the criminals and returns the money, he is assigned to a dumping yard where he will work for almost twelve hours, as the CCTV footage reveals that Gautham’s request was the cause of the incident. The colony is soaked by a torrential downpour on the night that Gautham returns from his duty, and his room’s roof collapses. He discovers a diary, two magnifying lenses, a small stone with a design, a Garuda locket, an old empty bag with the words “Pushkalavathi Jewellers, Peshawar” printed on it, and more from the roof. He begins to read the entry written by his grandfather, Satyanarayana Varma, in the diary. On India-Pakistan Day, proponents of partition attacked wealthy men, plundering them.
