Chatrapathi Sekhar

Biography:

Savitri Chandra Sekhar, better known by his stage name Chatrapati Sekhar, is a Telugu actor best known for his supporting parts. Additionally, he participates in Telugu TV series, and he is well-known for frequently working with S.S. Rajamouli. He appears in practically all of Rajamouli’s films. Kurnool District is where Chandra Sekhar was born. Savitri Anjaneyulu is his father, and Savitri Venkata Subamma is his mother.

His father died while he was quite young, and his family experienced many difficulties. He was unable to complete his education as a result. He started seeking for a job as his mother, a nurse, worked. Then, in an effort to try his luck, he enrolled in Devadas Kanakala’s film institute but left due to financial difficulties. The institute supported him, and he later appeared in commercials and the television series Shanti Nivasan.

During his time in college, Chatrapathi participated in a number of plays and dramas. He then received training in various acting techniques at a renowned art institution and was placed in supporting roles in Telugu theatrical productions in Hyderabad. He made his film debut in the supporting cast of the drama-action film “Student No. 1” in 2001. In 2005, S. S. Rajamouli’s action-drama film “Chatrapathi,” in which he played the pivotal character of Bhadram, brought him international fame as an actor.

The film was both critically and commercially successful, and it won a few prizes like the Nandi Award and others. Chatrapathi’s acting in the film was also excellent, and it was nominated for a few accolades. Chatrapathi is also well-known for his work in a variety of films and television shows, including Simhadri (2003), Sye (2004), Vikramarkudu (2006), Flash News (2009), Maryada Ramanna (2010), Dhammu (2012), Daruvu (2012), Karthikeya (2014), Srimanthudu (2015), Jai Simha (2018), Rangasthalam (2018), U-Turn (2018), Akhanda (2021), RRR (2022), and others.

In the 2022 action-drama film “RRR,” directed by S.S. Rajamouli, Chatrapathi portrayed Jangu in a minor role. Rama Raju and Komaram Bheem were the two revolutionaries that dominated the film’s plot. The film received favorable reviews for its alluring plot and has an IMDB rating of 8.0. In addition to this, the film is renowned for garnering numerous accolades, including those from the New York Film Critics Circle, Atlanta Film Critics Circle, Hollywood Critics Association Awards, and Saturn Awards.

Chatrapathi made his television debut in 2019 as a supporting actor in Bhargav Shakamuri’s drama series “Radhamma Kuthuru.” He rose to stardom on television that same year as a result of his outstanding performance in Rasool’s romantic-drama series “Manasichi Choodu.”
