Plot
In the dead of night, Indhiran buys a gun illegally from a local thug with the help of his companions Sathish and Karuna. When Indhiran gets home, he looks at his wish list and thinks back to his history.
Past: Narcolepsy is an uncommon condition that has plagued Indhiran since childhood. It causes him to fall asleep anytime his emotions become too strong and prevents him from leading a normal life. He requires constant companionship. Despite his academic prowess and inability to become pregnant due to his tendency to nod off during intercourse, companies are reluctant to recruit him.
But even when he’s asleep, he can still hear what’s being spoken. Indhiran makes a list of things he wants to accomplish on his own, a bucket list. One of his dreams is to go out on his own one day. His dread increases when he nearly gets hit by a car while crossing the street, and he passes out in the middle of the road.
He is forced to act as an abandoned body by a bystander, who then takes donations for his funeral. As she walks by, Meera feels sorry for him and gives him about five thousand rupees. Later, when Meera runs across Indhiran in a mall, she is so shocked to see him that she passes out.
Once the misunderstanding is resolved, they begin dating and become enamored with one another. When Meera gives Indhiran the kiss of a beautiful woman, he fulfills one of his desires. However, because Indhiran can’t remain awake for sex, her father is against their marriage.
Indhiran is urged to find a solution to stay awake by Meera. It dawns on Indhiran that he’s never dozed off during a shower. Meera and Indhiran have sex in his swimming pool, and as a result, Meera becomes pregnant. Indhiran believes that her father will only accept him after his sexual prowess is demonstrated.
Indhiran and Meera find themselves on a bridge that is still under construction while out for a late-night drive. Unknown thugs attack and rape Meera while another car strikes theirs, causing Indhiran to pass out from fright. While sleeping, Indhiran is able to hear the entire incident and weeps for his helplessness. The child of Meera is aborted as she slips into a coma. Broken-hearted, Indhiran swears to take the criminals to justice.
Present: Indhiran refuses to give a police statement, preferring to take revenge on his own. He starts asking others who knew Meera questions. After asking around among Meera’s friends, Indhiran initially suspects Karthik, a wealthy but rude man whose marriage proposal was turned down by Meera.
When Indhiran confronts him, he claims not to know anything about the incident and even offers to assist Indhiran if needed. It dawns on Indhiran that the noise of unexpected obstructions puts him to sleep. He purchases a portable music player and plays it loudly in order to stop this. Because of the music, a transformer explosion that occurs directly next to him has no effect on him, and he realizes his newfound edge.
Additionally, Indhiran makes contact with a meditation instructor who instructs him in maintaining composure and preventing shock by foreseeing the incident. After staying up all night, Indhiran tries to manage his sleep by positioning himself between two noisy trains while turning up the volume on his music player.
Once in control, Indhiran acquires information about attack cases from a police officer who is sympathetic in order to track down a lead. As the authorities discover that the thugs were driving a red car, he recalls one of the assailants’ names, Sekhar, and his ringtone. When Indhiran comes across a red car at a gas station and asks the driver, he replies that the vehicle was with a mechanic by the name of Sekhar the day the crime was committed.
When the mechanic at the workshop realizes that Indhiran is who he is, he tries to flee, and they end up chasing one other to a building that is still being built. After receiving word from Sathish, Karuna goes there and murders Sekhar. He then hurts himself in an attempt to persuade Indhiran that Sekhar, who had fled the scene, had attacked him. After that, he is brought in for care.
