Indian actor Sunder Ramu has performed in theater and cinema and has also held a photography position. In the 2011 drama film Mayakkam Enna, he made his screen debut. He received significant accolades for his performance and went on to play a key role in Aishwarya Dhanush’s 3 film.
Sunder attended The Valley School in Bengaluru for his secondary education. He could not handle Hindi, so he transferred to the National School of Drama in Delhi but left midway through. He went back to Chennai to enrol in Loyola College’s Visual Communication school, and while there, he shot a portfolio for model Sunita Punjabi, who advanced to the Femina Miss India semifinals.
This was the start of his fashion photography career, and he has subsequently worked with numerous labels. He balanced this with a career as a theater performer, appearing in almost ten years of pantomimes for The Little Theatre. Sunder has performed in about 600 events with 12 different groups since the early 1990s.
After that, Sunder Ramu wrote three short films with actor and friend Dhanush, one of which Selvaraghavan later took over and made into Mayakkam Enna. Alongside Dhanush and Richa Gangopadhyay, Sunder played a significant role in the film, which was released in November 2011 to positive reviews.
One reviewer from The Hindu noted that “Sundar was impressive.” In addition, Sunder was a part of the well-known song Why This Kolaveri Di, which received over 5 ,000,000 views on YouTube. Later, he played a lead role in the Tamil web series “As I’m Suffering From Kadhal” by Balaji Mohan.
