Pyramid Natarajan is a former Indian actor and producer known for his character roles in Tamil cinema. He gained prominence as an actor with a breakthrough performance in Mani Ratnam’s “Alaipayuthey” (2000), where he portrayed the character of Madhavan’s father. Following this role, he transitioned into playing antagonistic roles in several films.
Natarajan’s journey in the entertainment industry began in a small village called Valoothoor near Papanasam, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. He later moved to Madras with hopes of making a mark in the film industry. His early years saw him briefly joining K. Balachander’s drama troupe, Ragini Recreations, and participating in various stage productions. Subsequently, he established his own theater troupe and staged plays. Over time, Natarajan’s career took an administrative turn when he became the executive producer of Gemini Films, where he honed his skills in film administration.
He played a pivotal role in nurturing Kavithalayaa Productions as a joint production company in collaboration with K. Balachander. Additionally, in 1997, he promoted Pyramid Entertainment Limited, leveraging his extensive 30 years of experience and domain expertise in the entertainment sector. Natarajan has been actively involved in the film industry and has contributed significantly to various aspects, including film production, administration, and industry-related trade bodies. Currently, he is engaged in the hospitality sector, running a hotel named “Maavadu.in.”
