Ronnie Screwvala is a prominent Indian entrepreneur, film producer, and philanthropist. He was born on September 8, 1956, in Mumbai, India. Ronnie is known for his significant contributions to the Indian entertainment industry, particularly in film production and television.

In 1981, Ronnie founded the production company UTV Software Communications, which later became one of the leading entertainment conglomerates in India. Under his leadership, UTV produced and distributed numerous successful films and television shows, gaining both critical acclaim and commercial success.

Some of the notable films produced by UTV under Ronnie’s leadership include “Rang De Basanti,” “Swades,” “Jodhaa Akbar,” and “Taare Zameen Par,” among many others. These films not only achieved box office success but also earned several awards and accolades.

In 2012, The Walt Disney Company acquired UTV, and Ronnie stepped down as the CEO of the company. However, he remained actively involved in the entertainment industry and continued to produce films independently through his new production company, RSVP Movies.
