Aambala

Story:

The 2015 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film Aambala (transl. Man) was co-written, co-produced, and directed by Sundar C. Vishal, who is also the producer, stars in the lead role with Hansika Motwani, Prabhu, Vaibhav, Santhanam, Sathish, Ramya Krishnan, Kiran Rathod, Aishwarya, Maadhavi Latha, Madhuurima, and Pradeep Rawat in an ensemble cast. Hiphop Tamizha composed the music.

After receiving a mixed reception upon its debut on January 14, 2015, Pongal, the film went on to become a moderate smash, clashing with I and Darling.

Plot

Saravanan is an Ooty resident who has a company that provides crowdsourcing for political gatherings and events. He meets Maya one day and becomes smitten. But she’s also in love with “RDX” Rajasekhar, a police officer. Rajasekhar is persuaded not to pursue Maya by Saravanan, who claims she is too refined. After a string of blunders, Rajasekhar loses his job and takes a job as a hotel doorman.

When he discovers Saravanan and Maya dating, he is startled. He queries Saravanan on how he won Maya around to his way of thinking. When Saravanan concludes his account, it becomes clear that he was partially responsible for the incidents that resulted in Rajasekhar’s dismissal. Rajasekhar, fuming, calls in breakup expert Kumaran. Then, in an attempt to sabotage Saravanan and Maya’s relationship, Kumaran sends a woman.

As a result of his failed love, Saravanan drinks too much and passes out. Saravanan is dropped off at his house by Kumaran, who is also in the bar. Because of his actions, Saravanan’s mother Thulasi sends him to Madurai to meet with his father Aalavanthan and younger brother Shakthi. They reunite with Aalavanthan after meeting him there. They learn that Aalavanthan’s former lover is also the father of Kumaran.

Aalavanthan informs his sons that Periya Ponnu, Nadu Ponnu, and Chinna Ponnu are their three aunts. In order to bring their families back together permanently, Aalavanthan desires that his sons wed the daughters of their aunts. In order to abduct and marry their cousins, a hesitant Saravanan accompanies his brothers and father to a temple event, but in the process, they abduct their aunts. They flee before they are discovered. When Saravanan learns that Maya is the daughter of Periya Ponnu, he accepts the proposal.

Aalavanthan tells his sons that their three aunts are Periya Ponnu, Nadu Ponnu, and Chinna Ponnu. Aalavanthan wants his sons to marry their aunts’ daughters in order to permanently reunite their families. A reluctant Saravanan goes to a temple function with his brothers and father with the intention of kidnapping and marrying their cousins; however, during the process, they kidnap their aunts. They run away before anyone finds them. Saravanan agrees to the proposal after finding out that Maya is Periya Ponnu’s daughter.

In an attempt to get even with Periya Ponnu, Pasupathy bets that if she loses, her daughter Maya will wed his son, but if he wins, he will serve her at home. Saravanan uses his political acumen to help his aunt become more well-liked. But the aunts discover a few days prior to the elections that Saravanan’s father is actually their brother Aalavanthan, whom they feel was responsible for their father’s death. Because of their animosity toward Aalavanthan, they manage to have Saravanan and his siblings taken into custody.

The harsh remarks of his sisters wounded Aalavanthan. He gets admitted to the hospital after having a heart attack. Due to Pasupathy’s cunning maneuvering, Saravanan’s aunt loses popularity while he and his siblings are incarcerated. When Saravanan phones Rajasekhar, he helps the brothers and reveals Pasupathy’s devious tactics. In an attempt to avoid losing, Pasupathy tries to buy votes, but Saravanan and Kumaran thwart his scheme, giving Periya Ponnu the advantage. Maya has already escaped to elope with Saravanan when Pasupathy shows up at the house with the intention of killing the family and taking Maya. However, Saravanan is adamant that they return.

An enraged Pasupathy admits that it was not Aalavanthan but rather him who killed Aalavanthan’s father. Immediately after Maya and Saravanan return, he strikes Periya Ponnu. Fighting Pasupathy and his son is Saravanan. When Pasupathy finally goes to recruit his men, he is defeated because he discovers that every man gathered is a part of Saravanan’s gang. When the family gets together, they celebrate the weddings of the three brothers and their relatives.
