Viji Chandrasekhar

Biography:

Actress Viji Chandrasekhar is from India. She has appeared in a number of Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu movies. She portrayed the female lead in the critically acclaimed film Arohanam. She is renowned for her performances and has been in several television series. She portrayed the main character in the television drama Azhagi.

Saritha, an actress who was already well-known when Viji made her début as Rajinikanth’s sister in the 1981 comedy Thillu Mullu by K. Balachander, is Viji’s elder sister. Despite the success of the movie, Viji decided to focus on her academics and postpone acting until the 1990s.

She primarily worked in television serials but has played supporting roles in movies like K. Balachander’s Paarthale Paravasam (2001) as Raghava Lawrence’s sister and Mani Ratnam’s Aaytha Ezhuthu (2004) as Krishna’s character’s sister. Over 35 serials in more than 20 years featured her. She received praise from critics for her portrayal of bipolar vegetable vendor Nirmala in Lakshmi Ramakrishnan’s Aarohanam in 2012.
