Hiphop Tamizha, also known as Aadhi and Jeeva, is a renowned musical duo hailing from Tamil Nadu, India. Aadhi (Adhithya Ramachandran Venkatapathy) serves as the composer, producer, and lyricist, while Jeeva (Jeevarathanam) contributes as the vocalist and rapper. They gained significant prominence for their unique fusion of Tamil lyrics with contemporary and urban musical styles.
Hiphop Tamizha first gained widespread recognition with their debut album “Hiphop Tamizhan” in 2012, which included the viral hit “Club Le Mabbu Le.” Their music resonated with the youth and introduced a fresh approach to Tamil music by incorporating rap and hip-hop elements.
One of their major breakthroughs was in the film industry. Aadhi composed and performed songs for the soundtrack of the Tamil film “3” (2012), which featured the chartbuster “Why This Kolaveri Di.” This song became a massive viral sensation and introduced Hiphop Tamizha to a much larger audience.
Apart from their music career, Hiphop Tamizha also ventured into filmmaking. Aadhi made his directorial debut with the Tamil film “Meesaya Murukku” (2017), which was semi-autobiographical and focused on his journey into the music industry. The film was well-received and further solidified their position in the entertainment industry.
Hiphop Tamizha’s energetic and innovative musical style, along with their ability to connect with the younger generation, has made them a notable presence in both the music and film worlds of Tamil Nadu.
