Gopi Amarnath

Biography:

After completing her studies at MGR Film Institute, Gopi began working as P. S. Vinod, a renowned cinematographer,’s assistant. After Amarnath’s work in Maalai Pozhudhin Mayakathilaey (2012) garnered favorable reviews, C. V. Kumar signed him up to work with him on another project.

His performance in Pizza (2012), the directorial debut of Karthik Subbaraj, earned him both the Vijay Award for Best Cinematographer and critical acclaim. After that, he had a breakthrough and started working on projects with larger budgets. He collaborated with Sundar C on Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru (2013) and Aambala (2015). He had five films in various stages of production as of 2015.
