Biography:

Madras Rajagopalan Radhakrishnan Ravi is an Indian actor and politician who has primarily played supporting roles in his career. He is the son of the renowned actor M. R. Radha and is related to other prominent figures in the entertainment industry, including his half-sister Raadhika. Radha Ravi has been associated with the Tamil Nadu Film Artistes’ Association and is well-known for portraying antagonist roles in Tamil films. He has also ventured into television, appearing in the serial “Chellamae,” and has gained a reputation for making controversial remarks about fellow film personalities.

Radha Ravi’s career began in the theater, and he later transitioned to film acting. His first foray into Tamil cinema was in the movie “Manmadha Leelai” in 1976, recommended by Kamal Haasan to director K. Balachander. Throughout his career, he delivered notable performances in various films, including “Annaamalai,” “Padayappa,” and “Sarkar.” Radha Ravi also dabbled in film production with projects like “Thai Maasam Poo Vasam” and “Ilaignar Ani.”

In the realm of politics, Radha Ravi has been associated with different parties over the years, such as the DMK and AIADMK. He has served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from 2001 to 2006, representing the Saidapet constituency. His political affiliations have shifted several times, and he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2019. However, his political career has been marred by controversies, including derogatory comments he made during election campaigns.

Radha Ravi has also faced allegations of sexual harassment as part of the #MeToo movement in the Indian Tamil film industry. These allegations were brought forward by singer Chinmayi, who claimed that Radha Ravi expelled her from the dubbing union for speaking out against him. Additionally, he has been embroiled in controversies for making critical comments about various film personalities and organizations, drawing widespread attention and condemnation.
