TheatreIn 2025, T.R. Bala made his directorial debut with Jinn: The Pet, a fantasy film in Tamil that was written, directed, and produced by AR Touring Talkies, Anil Kumar Reddy, and Fairy Tale Pictures. In addition to Bala Saravanan, Imman Annachi, Radha Ravi, Vadivukkarasi, Nizhalgal Ravi, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, George Vijay, Master Shakti, and others in supporting parts, the film’s main actors include Mugen Rao and Bhavya Trikha. On May 30, 2025, Jinn: The Pet was released in theaters.
A mosque is entered by two young women. A violent spirit takes possession of one of the women. After separating the ghost from the woman, the priests place the ghost in a box. Sakthi is a temporary member of a Malaysian band. Sakthi explores an antique store and wins a lottery. After learning about Jinn from the owner of an antique shop, Sakthi purchases a ghost box that holds a Jinn. Sakthi travels home Chennai to be with his family after the music band’s Malaysian contract expires. Although Sakthi tells his family about the Jinn, they are terrified of it.
After being hurt, Sakthi’s grandma is brought to the hospital. Sakthi falls in love with Priya, a nurse he originally met at the airport, and meets her at the hospital. A loan shark gives Sakthi money so he can launch his own band. Sakthi and Priya declare their love for one another and are married. A phantom figure disturbs the household members, and mysterious things occur in the house. To get the Jinn to quit bothering his family, Sakthi goes him to another priest. Sakthi was beaten by debt Shark’s thugs for failing to pay back the debt as she was coming from the priest. Sakthi is assisted by Jinn in fending off the thugs of the Loan Shark.
A newborn boy is born to Sakthi’s sister. Sakthi throws the Jinn box out of the house because she thinks Jinn is to blame for Priya’s severe injuries. When the lock on the Jinn box cracks, Jinn emerges in all of his corporeal form. Priya is calm when she is brought to the hospital. A criminal posing as a doctor attempts to murder Priya. Jinn knocks up the thug after possessing Sakthi to save Priya. An old legend about Sakthi and Priya being the reincarnation of an Indonesian king and queen is revealed by Jinn. The King and Queen were being guarded by the same Jinn, also known as Good Jinn.
A Bad Jinn (the opening scene’s ghost) assists one of the King’s ministers in killing the King and Queen while imprisoning the Good Jinn. Priya is left in a coma at Sakthi’s house after being released from the hospital. Sakthi’s home is visited by a number of thugs who want to murder Priya. In addition to finding a clue regarding the individuals attempting to kill Priya, Sakthi is assisted by Jinn in fending off the goons. The long-lost daughter of billionaire Radha Krishnan is identified as Priya.
In order to inherit Radha Krishnan’s fortune, Ashok, his son, and his manager are attempting to murder Priya. When Priya awakens from her coma, she gives Radha Krishnan’s attorney the evidence of her death, and the attorney then shares it with the public. They kidnap Priya. The Bad Jinn Box is obtained by the manager after visiting a priest (the opening scene priest). Sakthi is possessed by a good Jinn, who attempts to save Priya, but the manager, assisted by a priest, captures the Jinn. The manager releases the Bad Jinn after the Good Jinn eludes arrest. The Bad Jinn is vanquished by the Good Jinn.
