Story:

“Jil Jung Juk” is a Tamil movie released in 2016, and it’s a mix of Western, post-apocalyptic, and black comedy genres. Directed by Deeraj Vaidy, who co-wrote the script with Mohan Ramakrishnan, the film is the first directorial venture for Deeraj Vaidy. Siddharth, the popular actor, not only produced the film under the Etaki Entertainment banner but also played a lead role alongside Avinash Raghudevan and Sananth Reddy. The movie hit screens worldwide on February 12, 2016.

The story unfolds in a world facing challenges like a shortage of petrol and money in the year 2020. It revolves around Deivanayagam, a former powerful gangster who sees an opportunity to smuggle cocaine and outsmart his rival, Rolex Rawther. To execute his plan, Deivanayagam enlists the help of three individuals: Nanjil Sivaji (known as Jil), Jambulingam (known as Jung), and Jaguar Jagan (known as Juk). Their mission is to safely deliver the cocaine to a Chinese gang in Hyderabad.

To avoid getting caught by the police, Deivanayagam, with the assistance of a scientist named Marundhu, comes up with a clever plan. They coat the drugs in a pink-painted Ambassador car. Along their journey, they encounter Narasimhan, who owns a car almost identical to theirs. An unexpected friendship forms, leading to a night out at a pub where, in a twist of fate, the trio unintentionally takes Narasimhan’s car, setting off a series of events.

It’s later revealed that Narasimhan was assigned by Deivanayagam’s assistant Pai and Marundhu to steal the car and sell it to another gangster, Attack Albert. Confused by the situation, the trio stumbles upon a damaged car on a film set, mistakenly believing it to be the Ambassador car assigned for delivery. This misconception prompts them to confront Narasimhan about his intentions and, realizing they lack the cocaine, they decide to approach Attack Albert to get the necessary substance.

However, Albert kidnaps the trio in an attempt to seize the drugs they have. Rawther catches wind of Deivanayagam’s plans and organizes a meeting. Though the trio is initially captured by Rawther’s men, they manage to deceive them when Deivanayagam reveals that the Rolex watch he gave Rawther was a fake. This revelation triggers a gang war between Deivanayagam and Rawther’s men, and the situation takes a turn when Albert arrives, killing the two gangsters to establish himself as a powerful drug lord.

Albert then kidnaps Jil, Jung, and Juk with the intent to murder them, taking them to a remote location. However, fate intervenes when they encounter Juk’s father, a bus driver, who rescues them. A fierce battle ensues with Albert’s men, and despite Albert’s attempt to use a Gyrojet, a marble interferes, causing it to backfire and leading to Albert’s collapse. The trio manages to escape, and the film concludes with them leading a happy life.

In an unexpected turn, the Chinese gang, eagerly awaiting the drug delivery, is left disappointed as Jil fails to arrive. The deal is canceled midway, leaving the gang empty-handed. “Jil Jung Juk” skillfully blends elements of comedy, action, and suspense, delivering a unique cinematic experience to the audience. With its creative storytelling and unexpected twists, the film keeps viewers engaged while exploring themes of friendship, deception, and the unpredictable nature of life in a post-apocalyptic world.
