Plot
Poochiyappan is a railway catering business waiter at the New Delhi Railway Station who works the New Delhi-Chennai Express. Under the direction of Chandrakanth, his manager, he collaborates alongside Vairam, his closest friend and teammate.
He meets Saroja, the make-up artist for actress Srisha, during the trip and instantly falls in love. Her goal is to become a well-known vocalist. Saroja offers to help Vairam court her when Poochi tells him about her. Poochi comes up with a scheme and forces her to speak with Vairam, posing as the well-known Tamil poet Vairamuthu, over the phone.
Though he keeps encouraging her, he soon finds out that Saroja is not a talented singer. In order to pursue her dream of becoming a singer, Saroja stays close to Poochi, not realizing that Vairam is actually Vairamuthu.
When the train stops in Jhansi, Central Minister Rangarajan and his two bodyguards get on board. Nandhakumar, one of them, is not friendly with Saroja and Poochi. He feels cheated by the minister in Poochi’s presence, and he intends to exact revenge.
He agrees to return his misplaced gun to Poochi in exchange for her asking him to apologize to Saroja for punching her before. He quickly learns that the minister is in possession of the gun. He swears to kill Saroja and Poochi. At Nagpur Junction, in the meantime, the driver is celebrating his retirement when thieves sneak onto the train.
