Indian actress Annapurna, popularly known as Annapurnamma, was born Umamaheswari on October 17, 1948. She is most known for her work in Telugu movies. She is renowned for portraying mothers, mothers-in-law, grandmothers, aunts, and other female roles. She made her acting debut in 1975’s popular Telugu film Swargam Narakam, directed by Dasari Narayana Rao, with Mohan Babu (debut film). She won three Nandi Awards and made appearances in almost 900 films.
