Birth Place : Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
Father : Krishnan Iyer
Mother : Uma Iyer

Biography:

Trisha was born on May 4, 1983, into a Tamil Brahmin household in Madras (now Chennai), to Krishnan Iyer and Uma Iyer. She completed her education at Church Park, Chennai’s Sacred Heart Matriculation School before enrolling in a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programme at Ethiraj College for Women. She tried modelling and made several appearances in print and television advertising. She won the “Miss Salem” beauty pageant in 1999, and later that year, she took first place in the Miss Chennai competition. She had additionally won the “Beautiful Smile” prize at the Miss India 2001 event. She eats just vegetarian food.

Early life :
Trisha had initially planned to pursue a career as a criminal psychologist and had opposed the idea because she wanted to finish her studies first. She played Ayesha Takia’s buddy in Falguni Pathak’s 2000 song video Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye. Her professional acting career began when she was subsequently approached for an acting part in the Tamil film Lesa Lesa (2003) by Indian filmmaker Priyadarshan. While in college, she had a strict shooting schedule, which made it challenging for her to finish her education. She made up for it by taking summer courses.

Film career:
The next year, Trisha starred in Manasellam, a box office dud, as a woman who was near death. Her subsequent film, Saamy, directed by Hari, was released in 2003. In it, she portrayed a soft-spoken Brahmin girl and received appreciation for the role. Trisha received fresh proposals as a result of the movie’s enormous commercial success, including ones from various high-end enterprises. The film Lesa Lesa, which was supposed to be her lead acting debut, came out next. She won the ITFA Best New Actress Award for this sultry musical adaptation of the 1998 Malayalam film Summer in Bethlehem. She appeared in Alai and Enakku 20 Unakku 18 after Lesa Lesa, both of which were box office duds.

Varsham, released in Telugu in 2004, was Trisha’s following film. It was a huge hit and gave her the Telugu Filmfare Best Actress Award. She also started to get more offers for Telugu movie roles as a result of it. Later the same year, in 2004, Trisha portrayed a damsel in need that a kabaddi player attempts to save from a dishonest politician who wants to wed her in Ghilli. It was a huge commercial hit. She participated in the ensemble cast of Mani Ratnam’s political drama Aaytha Ezhuthu (2004) alongside Siddharth, R. Madhavan, and Suriya. Trisha played a country girl in the Telugu romantic comedy Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana (2005), which was a box-office hit. She received a second Filmfare Award for best actress, as well as her first Nandi Award.

In 2013, Trisha had appearances in two Tamil films: the suspenseful mystery Samar and Endrendrum Punnagai, for which she received a Filmfare nomination. Power, her lone film release in 2014, served as her Kannada film debut. The 2015 releases starring Trisha includes the comedies Sakalakala Vallavan, Thoongaa Vanam / Cheekati Rajyam, the Tamil-Telugu multilingual thriller Thoongaa Vanam, and the sports drama Bhooloham. She has roles in the Tamil-Telugu bilingual comedies Aranmanai 2 and Nayaki (spelt Nayagi in Tamil), as well as the comedy-horror Kodi, for which she won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress – Tamil. Trisha made her Malayalam film debut in Hey Jude the same year she won her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Tamil) for ’96 (2018).
