Story:

“Kuruvi” is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language superhero comedy film directed by Dharani and produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin. The movie stars Vijay in the lead role, supported by Trisha, Suman, Vivek, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Manivannan. The story revolves around Vetrivel, also known as Velu, a car racer living in Chennai. He believes his father disappeared while working at a colliery in Kadapa, and he travels to Malaysia to confront a crime boss named Koccha, who owes his father a substantial amount of money. Velu becomes embroiled in Koccha’s family issues and a diamond heist.

Velu’s journey takes him to Malaysia as he assumes the identity of “Kuruvi,” a term referring to low-level contraband carriers. He discovers that his father is alive but held as bonded labor at the Kadapa colliery. Singamuthu, Velu’s father, had uncovered diamonds at the colliery and had been imprisoned there for refusing to let Koccha and his associate illegally mine the diamonds. Velu, determined to free his father, returns to India with the stolen diamond. However, Koccha threatens Velu’s family to retrieve the diamond.

Velu eventually confronts Koccha, learning of the illegal diamond mining and government document theft orchestrated by Koccha and his associates. With the help of Devi, Koccha’s sister, Velu exposes their criminal activities. He takes on Konda Reddy, Kadapa Raja, and their henchmen, ultimately defeating them and reuniting his father with his family, while also rekindling his relationship with Devi.

In essence, “Kuruvi” is a film filled with action, drama, and a touch of comedy, centered around Velu’s quest to save his father and bring justice to the wrongdoers.
