Theatre“Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana” is a 2005 Telugu romantic comedy film directed by Prabhu Deva, marking his directorial debut. Produced by M. S. Raju under Sumanth Art Productions. The film features Srihari, Siddharth, and Trisha, with music composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
The movie received acclaim, winning nine Filmfare Awards South and five Nandi Awards. It holds the record for being remade in nine different languages, the highest for any Indian film. Additionally, it earned the name of receiving the most Filmfare awards for any South Indian movie.
The story revolves around Siri, a simple girl from rural Andhra Pradesh raised by her older brother Sivaramakrishna. Due to past incidents happened for Siri’s mother, Shivaramaraju opposes marrages between wealthy individuals and less affluent girls. Siri is invited to her friend Lalitha’s wedding, where she meets Santosh, Lalitha’s wealthy cousin from London. A love story blossoms between Santosh and Siri, but Janaki, Santosh’s mother, disapproves due to Siri’s economic status.
At the wedding, Janaki humiliates Siri and Sivaramakrishna, accusing them of trying to entrap Santosh. Sathosh after knowing about what his mother have done, goes to Siri’s village and ask Shivaramaraju for a chance. Sivaramakrishna challenges Santosh to prove his worth by tending to the cows, performing farm tasks, and outproducing crops. Failure would result in Santosh leaving the village. Despite obstacles, including opposition from others, Santosh perseveres, demonstrating his love for Siri.
When Krishnaiah and JP kidnap Siri, intending to force her marriage to Krishnaiah’s son, a dramatic confrontation ensues. Santosh, in defending Siri, inadvertently causes harm. Sivaramakrishna takes the blame for the incident, spending five years in prison. Upon his release, Janaki accepts Siri, and the film concludes with Siri and Santosh’s joyous wedding, witnessed by all.
