Story:

Gautham Vasudev Menon is the writer and director of the 2015 Tamil action thriller Yennai Arindhaal (if you know me). A. M. Rathnam is the producer. Vivek, Anikha, Parvathy Nair, Ashish Vidyarthi, Suman, and Avinash Yelandur play supporting parts in the movie, which stars Ajith Kumar, Trisha Krishnan, Anushka Shetty, and Arun Vijay in the key roles. Along with being the last of Menon’s police trilogy, it follows Kaakha Kaakha and Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. A former police officer’s struggle to shield his stepdaughter from his bitter nemesis is the main focus of the movie.

In October 2013, Menon made the decision to finalize the script, with writing advisors Thiagarajan Kumararaja and Shridhar Raghavan. On April 9, 2014, principal photography began, and within 12 days, its first scheduled session took place in Chennai on April 11. Chennai, Hyderabad, Rajasthan, Sikkim, and a few locations in Malaysia were used for the film’s second session, which was shot in May 2014. Harris Jayaraj, who rejoined Menon after Vaaranam Aayiram (2008), composed the soundtrack. The film was edited by Anthony, and the cinematography was done by Dan Macarthur.

Critics gave Yennai Arindhaal favorable reviews when it was released in theaters on February 5, 2015. The movie received nominations in five categories at the 63rd Filmfare Awards South: Best Lyricist for Thamarai, Best Music Director for Harris Jayaraj, Best Supporting Actor for Arun Vijay, and Best Actor for Ajith Kumar. Arun Vijay won the Best Actor in a Negative Role – Tamil prize at the 5th South Indian International Movie Awards, where the film was nominated for six categories.

A carefree girl from Chennai named Thenmozhi travels to Boston in 2015 to meet her baby niece. Three weeks later, Thenmozhi receives a complimentary first-class upgrade at the airport as he departs for Chennai. She overeats throughout the flight and begins to throw up, but with the assistance of her fellow traveler Sathyadev, she recovers, and she falls in love with him. Sathyadev and Thenmozhi meet at a cafe in Chennai the following day. Renowned mobster Victor Manoharan shows up with his group to kidnap Thenmozhi, but Sathya steps in and drives them away.
