As it is Vijay’s 67th film as a lead actor, the movie was officially announced in January 2023 under the working title Thalapathy 67. A few days later, the title of the movie was revealed. Principal photography started that month in Chennai and included intermittent schedules in Kashmir. After another schedule was held at the original location, principal photography ended by the middle of July. Manoj Paramahamsa handled the cinematography for the movie, and Philomin Raj handled the editing. Anirudh Ravichander created the music.
On October 19, 2023, Leo is slated for release in theatres all around the world.
