Story:

“Thoongaa Vanam” is a 2015 Indian action thriller directed by Rajesh M. Selva, starring Kamal Haasan, Prakash Raj, Trisha, and Kishore in key roles. The story follows C.K Diwakar, an IRS officer, whose son Vasu is kidnapped by the drug lord Vittal Rao. To secure Vasu’s release, Diwakar must return a bag of seized cocaine, setting off a series of intense events.

Caught between Vittal’s gang and pursuing police officers Mallika and Dhiraviyam/Mohan, Diwakar’s undercover operation is revealed, exposing corrupt cops involved in drug smuggling. Diwakar manages to rescue Vasu, leading to Vittal’s arrest. Initially suspicious, Mallika realizes Diwakar’s integrity, resulting in the arrest of corrupt officers. The film concludes with Diwakar and Mallika joining forces to combat criminal activities.

The cast, including Kamal Haasan, Prakash Raj, Trisha, and Kishore, delivered commendable performances. Shot in various locations across Europe and India, the film employed a bilingual approach, with cinematography by Sanu Varghese and music by Ghibran.
