Dan Macarthur is an accomplished Australian film director, cinematographer, and founder of 18° Entertainment. His career is marked by diverse achievements. In 2013, he wrote and directed the gangster comedy film “Nice Package,” gaining attention for its humorous narrative featuring actors like Dwayne Cameron and Leon Cain. Macarthur’s cinematography has garnered widespread praise, notably for the 2014 Tamil film “Yennai Arindhaal,” where his work was celebrated for bringing a Hollywood-esque quality to Tamil cinema. His skill was further acknowledged in Bollywood with the film “Go Goa Gone,” India’s pioneering zombie comedy, shot in 2011.

As a Director of Photography, Macarthur has excelled, receiving esteemed awards for his work on various films, such as the 2013 action thriller “Absolute Deception” and the psychological thriller “The Suicide Theory.” He also directed music videos for renowned Australian bands like Powderfinger and The Whitlams, earning accolades and even winning the National ACS Golden Tripod Award for Best Cinematography for The Whitlams’ “Blow Up the Pokies.” Macarthur’s talent extends beyond films, as seen in his involvement in shooting music videos and a tour documentary for Russell Crowe’s band, Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts.
