Pondy Ravi is an Indian actor primarily active in Tamil-language cinema, having participated in over sixty films.
Initially, Pondy Ravi began his career in the film industry as an assistant cameraman for the movie “Minsara Kanavu” in 1997. Notably, he has frequently taken on roles portraying police officers in various films such as “Alaipayuthey” (2000), “Minnale” (2001), and “Kaakha Kaakha” (2003). An interesting turn came when he auditioned for a role in Ang Lee’s “Life of Pi” (2013), where he depicted a silent police officer responsible for traffic control. In “Vajram” (2015), Ravi portrayed a corrupt police officer acting on behalf of a minister for monetary gain. Additionally, he ventured into a lead role in the film “Saamida” (2008), appearing under the name Sembi; however, the film had a relatively low-profile release.
Beyond his acting commitments, Pondy Ravi is also involved in managing a video lab and serves as a connection for films shot in Pondicherry.
