Indian actor Cell Murugan is well-known for his humorous works costarring with actor Vivek. Cell Murugan costarred with Vivek in nearly all of his films and served as his manager. In 1977 (2009), he had a prominent role as a Malaysian Tamil who cautions Vivek from pursuing a Malay girl because there is a sign outside her house that reads “Awas Anjing”.
In the 2009 film Anthony Yaar?, he played a man whose mustache Vivek shaves off in a bar, receiving plaudits for the act. In the comedic films Sivappu Mazhai (2010), Pathayeram Kodi (2013), Killadi (2015), and Ezhumin (2018), he portrayed full-length roles. On the anniversary of Vivek’s death in 2022, Cell Murugan remembered him by planting a sapling as part of his Green Kalam campaign.
