Manohar, an Indian actor and director, began his career as a child artist, featuring in various films such as “Rathinirvedam,” “Nidra,” and “Kuyiline Thedi.” He gained experience working alongside K. S. Ravikumar, assisting in films like “Band Master” and “Suriyan Chandran.” Manohar’s involvement extended to writing dialogues for movies like “Kolangal,” “Thennavan,” and “Punnagai Poove.” As an actor, he often took on small negative roles, appearing in films like “Dhill,” “Sutta Pazham,” and “Salim.” Notably, he portrayed character roles in films like “Veeram” as Nassar’s brother-in-law and in “Ennai Arinthaal” as Ajith’s uncle.
In 2009, Manohar marked his directorial debut with the film “Maasilamani” and followed it up with “Vellore Maavattam” in 2011, a police drama. Despite his aspirations to direct a film titled “Velu” starring Prashanth and Simran, the project did not come to fruition, although he had announced it in 2002.
Tragically, R. N. R. Manohar passed away on November 17, 2021, at a hospital in Chennai due to complications arising from COVID-19 during the pandemic in India.
