R. V. Udayakumar

Biography:

Throughout the 1990s, R. V. Udayakumar, an Indian film director, lyricist, and actor, primarily worked in the Tamil cinema business, directing and acting in films such as Yejaman and Chinna Gounder. Also, he has directed a few Telugu movies.

In the village of Mollepalayam, which is close to Mettupalayam, Udayakumar was born into a family of farmers. Kannammal is his mother, while Venkatasamy is his father. After earning his P. U. C. from the Government Arts and Science College, he pursued his BSc in Coimbatore. He enrolled in the Madras Film Institute to work toward a directing diploma. Udayakumar directed a number of short films throughout the course.

He was an associate director on movies including Oomai Vizhigal, Janani, and Neram Vandhachu. With Prabhu and Karthik in Urimai Geetham, he made his directorial debut. After the movie’s popularity, he was given the chance to helm Puthiya Vaanam, a remake of the Hindi film Hukumat, as his second project, by RM Veerappan. Sathyaraj and Sivaji Ganesan appeared in the movie. Then he gave Uruthimozhi directions.

Although Kizhakku Vasal, his fourth film, was a box office triumph, the film’s production was beset by a number of issues. After seeing the fire, the movie’s storywriter, M. S. Madhu, began to have fits. The set that was constructed for the movie caught fire. Due to nose bleeding, actress Sulakshana was brought to the hospital. After an automobile accident, RV Udayakumar was hospitalized and spent a month in a coma.

Following his recuperation, Udayakumar finished the movie’s finale. In contrast to the larger-than-life action roles he was accustomed to playing, Vijayakanth played a soft-spoken village chieftain in his next film, Chinna Gounder, which was a huge hit for both the director and the actor. He went on to helm Kamal Haasan in Singaravelan, which was also a hit film.
