Peddannayya

Story:

The 1997 Telugu-language drama film Peddannayya, also known as Big Brother, was helmed by Sarath and produced by Nandamuri Ramakrishna under the banner of Ramakrishna Horticultural Cine Studios. With music by Koti, it stars Nandamuri Balakrishna, Roja, and Indraja. The movie was a box office success, with record sales.

The film opens with the powerful local leader Ramakrishna Prasad, who is embroiled in a family rivalry with the evil Bhaskar Rayudu, a powerful man. In the past, the two were great friends. Ramakrishna is the patriarch of his hardworking joint family. He only worries about his mother and his three relatives, Sai Prasad, Durga Prasad, and Bhavani Prasad. Furthermore, they consider him to be a god. Seeta Mahalakshmi is a strong woman who has waited for 15 years to knit Ramakrishna. because he promised to wait to get married until his siblings settle. She also makes a vow not to burn until he knots anything. In addition, Bhavani is a mischievous and happy-go-lucky doctor who quarrels with Sravani, his colleague.

Other than this, Durga is infatuated with the conceited Neelaveni, who happens to be the daughter of Bhaskar Rayudu’s valet Advocate Chenchuramaiah. They therefore conspire to wed the two birds in order to make a schism in the family, which fails due to their idealised bondage. Meanwhile, Bhaskar Rayudu connives to defraud the government of a project by building an inferiority complex, in which Durga is also implicated. Aware of this, Ramakrishna chastises his brother, forces him to step down, and returns the looted money to Bhaskar Rayudu. In the meantime, Bhavani befriends Sravani despite discovering that she was raised in the home of a prostitute who would soon be used as a scapegoat. Unbeknownst to his older brother, he is forced to support her right away in order to protect others from harm. Chenchuramaiah makes use of it to start a fire.
