Born as Sri Sandhya Raju, Byrraju Sandhya Raju is a multifaceted Indian personality known for her prowess in Kuchipudi dance and her forays into the world of acting. Her early education took place at renowned institutions like Krishnamurti Foundation’s The School KFI Chennai and Bala Vidya Mandir, Chennai, followed by studies at Loyola College, Chennai, culminating in a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Osmania University.

Raju’s journey into the art of Kuchipudi began at the age of ten under the tutelage of Vempati Chinna Satyam at the Kuchipudi Art Academy, further honing her skills under the guidance of the prominent Kuchipudi Guru Kishore Mosalikanti. Her dedication led her to complete her Rangapravesham, a significant milestone for a Kuchipudi dancer, under Mosalikanti’s guidance.

Her career trajectory is a blend of artistic and entrepreneurial endeavors. Raju made her acting debut in the Hindi short film “Yaadhon Ki Baraat” in 2013 and entered the Malayalam film industry with the thriller “Careful” in 2017. Her appearance in the short film “Natyam” in 2016 marked her entry into the world of cinema, coinciding with International Dance Day.

Raju’s association with the arts goes beyond acting. She founded the Nishrinkala Dance Academy to pass on the legacy of her Guru’s Kuchipudi to the younger generation. Additionally, she actively manages Sandhya Spinning Mills, a part of the Ramco Group of Industries, alongside her involvement in the film industry.

Her Telugu film debut came with “Natyam,” a romantic drama intertwined with various dance forms, showcasing her skills and passion for both acting and dance. Alongside her cinematic pursuits, Raju has been an ardent performer of Kuchipudi, participating in numerous solo performances globally and garnering attention through her YouTube channel, amassing over 8 million views. Some of her notable performances include appearances in prestigious venues such as Guimet Museum in Paris, International Museum of Vienna, and renowned Indian venues like National Centre for the Performing Arts in Mumbai and the Music Academy in Chennai.
