Biography:

Yograj Singh is a former Indian cricketer and actor. He played one Test and six One Day Internationals for India as a right arm fast medium bowler and also he is the father of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh. He was born on 25 March 1958, in Ludhiana, Punjab, India.

He started playing cricket at a young age and was selected for the Punjab state team in 1978. He made his first-class debut for Punjab in the 1978-79 Ranji Trophy. He was a good bowling all-rounder and was known for his ability to swing the ball. He was a consistent performer for Punjab in domestic cricket and was selected for the Indian team in 1980 for the tour of Australia and New Zealand. He made his ODI debut against Australia in Melbourne on December 27, 1980. He played in five more ODIs on that tour, but was not very successful. He took only four wickets in those matches at an average of 57.50.

Yograj Singh made his Test debut against New Zealand in Wellington on February 14, 1981. He took one wicket in the match, that of John Wright for 63 runs, but was expensive, conceding 95 runs in his 26 overs.Singh was not selected for any further international matches after the New Zealand tour.
Singh entered Punjabi cinema After his cricket career was ended by injury. He has acted in over 50 Punjabi films, including Batwara (1983), Jagga Jiunda (2012), and “Vadda Kalakaar” (2013).
He has also produced and directed two Punjabi films, “Dulla Vaily” (2012) and “Manpreet Singh 2: The Shaheed” (2017). He is a popular figure in Punjabi cinema and is known for his strong screen presence and his ability to portray a variety of characters.
Yograj Singh is married to Shabnam Kaur. They have two sons, Yuvraj Singh and Zoravar Singh. Yuvraj Singh is a former Indian cricketer who played 400 matches for India in all three formats. He is a strict disciplinarian and was known for his harsh training methods towards his son Yuvraj during his childhood. However, he is also a very proud father and was deeply affected when Yuvraj was diagnosed with cancer in 2011.
