Indian actor, writer, director, and producer Mannava Balayya (April 9, 1930 – April 9, 2022) was well-known for his Telugu film work.Throughout his career, he made 300 appearances in motion pictures. Born in Chavupadu, Amaravathi mandalam, Guntur district, Mannava Balayya is the son of Guravayya Chowdary and Mannava Annapurnamma.
He attended Guindy Engineering College in Chennai where he pursued his B.E. in mechanical engineering. Under Tapi Chanakya’s tutelage, Balayya entered the film industry, driven by the drama of his college days Balayya entered the film industry under Tapi Chanakya’s tutelage.
With the Sarathi Studios-produced social film Ethuku Pai Ethu, directed by Tapi Chanakya, he made his acting debut. His acting career was launched by movies like Parvati Kalyanam. He founded Amrutha Films in 1970 and appeared in almost three hundred films as an actor.
The Andhra Pradesh government awarded him the Gold Nandi Award for his play Nalupu Telupu, which was later turned into Chelleli Kapuram. In addition, he wrote the screenplays for Neramu Siksha and Annadammula Katha. In 2012, he received the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award.
