Maharathi

Story:

Maharathi, which translates to “multi talented person,” is a 2007 Telugu-language action drama film directed by P. Vasu and produced by Vakada Appa Rao under the Sri Lalitha Kalanjali Productions label. Nandamuri Balakrishna plays the title role. Other significant supporting roles were played by Jaya Prada, Meera Jasmine, Sneha, Naresh, and Kovai Sarala, with music by Guru Kiran. The movie was a box office failure.

Bala is employed by Naresh Chowdary College as a music instructor. His emulation of Krishna Sarala Subrahmani, also known as Krishna is employed by Chamundeshwari’s college as a dancing master. With Bala’s assistance, Kalyani, the daughter of Naresh, eventually develops feelings for Krishna. Her father Naresh rejects her love for Krishna despite his advances and her eventual fall in love. Enraged by this, Kalyani locks herself in a room and orders Naresh Chowdary to bring Krishna to her. She begs him to accept her love, but he refuses. Next, Bala persuades and counsels Naresh Chowdary to speak with Krishna and arrange a meeting.

After discovering that Krishna is employed by Chamundeswari’s college as a dance instructor, Naresh Chowdary becomes surprised and discloses that Chamundeswari is actually her wife, who divorced him when Kalyani was just two years old. Naresh Chowdary, having no other option, goes to Chamundeswari and asks her to persuade Krishna to wed their daughter Kalyani. After she consents, they both meet Krishna. When Naresh Chowdary sees Krishna, he is taken aback since Krishna resembles his music teacher Bala precisely. To their surprise, Krishna declines Chamundeswari’s invitation to wed his daughter and takes on the persona of Bala.
