Raghava Lawrence

Biography:

Raghava Lawrence is an Indian actor, dancer, and director who primarily appears in Tamil and Telugu films. He began hunting for acting roles after making his debut in 1993 as a dance choreographer. In a Telugu film released in 1998, he made his acting debut.

He took on the name “Raghava” in 2001, and over the course of his career, he has worked with a number of well-known Tamil film actors and directors. With the Telugu film Style and then Muni, he made his debut. Lawrence has won four Filmfare Awards and three Nandi Awards for best choreography. He is also well known for his complicated hip-hop and westernised dance skills.

After the former Indian president A. P. J. Abdul Kalam passed away in 2015, Lawrence established a charity trust in his honour and gave 1 crore (US$130,000).

When Lawrence was a young child, he developed a brain tumour. He believes that the god Raghavendra Swamy is responsible for curing his tumour, and as a sign of his devotion, he adopted the name Raghava.On the Avadi-Ambattur highway, he constructed the Raghavendra Swamy Brindavanam Temple, which was inaugurated on January 1, 2010.Elviin Lawrence, Raghava’s younger brother, is also alive.

He enrols in the Muni series in Kanchana (2011). In the lead role is Sarath Kumar. The film enjoyed commercial success. He directed the Telugu film Rebel, starring Prabhas and Tamannaah, in 2012.In Kanchana 2 (2015), he performed. He starred in the 2017 Masala action movie Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva. The movie, according to Sify, was “crass, loud, and brainless.”Next comes Shivalinga, a remake of a Kannada film of the same name that was directed by P. Vasu. For two versions, Shakthi Vasudevan, the director’s son, also played a significant role.

In the narrative, a police officer looking into the mysterious death of a young Muslim guy discovers that his own wife has been taken over by the ghost of the deceased. The fourth film in the series, Muni 4: Kanchana 3: Kaali (2019), has three heroines, marking Raghava Lawrence’s return. The movie has made a respectable amount of money at the box office. He made his Hindi film directing debut in 2020 with Laxmii, a remake of Muni 2: Kanchana.
